People are buying more goods and services than ever before. Reason? It’s convenient. You sit in your favorite armchair and, sipping a cup of hot Nescafe, surf online shops, find the thing you need and order it. You may even have it delivered right to your door. And the only walking you need to do is with your fingers, typing in your credit card numbers. In doing so most shoppers don’t even suspect that their precious digits may get into the hands of some smart guy who secretly left a keylogger on the computer.

So what is a keylogger? “A keylogger is a spyware that stealthily records all keystrokes you make, takes snapshots of your screen and emails a detailed report to its owner,” explains Alexander Styopkin, CEO of Styopkin Software. “Such spyware may be installed by anyone who has an access to your computer or come as a component part of a virus or any other deceptively innocent application. Once installed, the keylogger is used to get hold of your credit card numbers, passwords, emails and other sensitive information. According to the latest surveys about 80% of home computers contain some type of spyware, including keyloggers.”

Frightening figures. But is there a way to protect your computer from keyloggers? Mr. Styopkin continues “Unfortunately antivirus software and firewalls fail to detect them and they remain invisible in the Windows processes. What may help is a good anti-keylogger. Our company is currently offering Keylogger Hunter which can help you block the work of about 90% of keyloggers. Most of them are hook-based and they get the OS to inform them about pressed keys. With Keylogger Hunter, you can simply delete this information before it is captured by the spyware. As a result there is an empty file of a keylogger and nothing to email its owner.”

Keylogger Hunter is a valuable addition to your security protection toolkit. It is small in size and takes minimum space on the hard drive. Working transparently throughout the operating system, it consumes a few system resources and doesn’t slow down the computer performance. By default it sits in the system tray and watches for suspicious activity in real time. Should there be a keylogger on your system, it simply paralyses the accumulation of information. And it does it without any interference from you and without the need to update the base of signatures. Another good thing about Keylogger Hunter is its price which is only $19.95.

The program has already proved its workability and helped many home users and businesses prevent the theft of their credit card numbers and other confidential information. “I have had an incredible success with Keylogger Hunter,” says Andrew Mokhov, co-founder of a legal advice office in Kiev, Ukraine. “After reading these nightmare articles about hackers and credit card theft, I decided to download the commercial version of your software and to my horror really, it found a keylogging program on my office computer. Fortunately it stopped it cold. Your program seemed to be just in time. Now I am recommending this anti-keylogger to my friends and hopefully they will get it too. A stitch in time saves nine, you know.”

Security

In all program keyloggers, the number of methods for getting information about keys you press is limited. There are two basic principles of keyloggers:
Hook based keyloggers;
Kernel based keyloggers.

Hook based keylogger is the most prevailing type of keyloggers, since this method is very easy-to-realize. By the program’s request, Windows informs it about every key you press.
Kernel-based keyloggers work with the help of user-written keyboard drivers. This method is applied extremely rarely, since it requires high level of proficiency from the developer of the keylogger.

In terms of these keyloggers’ vulnerabilities, the second version of the Keylogger Hunter was created, which paralyzes accumulation of information by Hook-based keyloggers. This program is neither a detector, nor a disabler of keyloggers; it paralyzes the principle of keylogger functioning, based on Hooks. That is to say, the program (working in real-time mode) deletes Windows’ information about pressed keys, which can be captured by Hook-based keyloggers. The result of such process is an empty file of the keylogger, which by no means can contain data about pressed keys.

Use of Keylogger Hunter allows you to be less dependent on freshness and completeness of the antivirus database, which can possibly contain no information about a rare version of a keylogger.

Thus, you have an opportunity to install on your computer and use a special program, which would play a role of a “second echelon” for your data security.

Restrictions.
Keylogger Hunter is only for Windows XP, 2000 & NT!
Kernel-based keyloggers are not blocked by Keylogger Hunter 2.0, only Hook based keyloggers are blocked (i.e. 90% of keyloggers are blocked)

Styopkin Software Announce

Innovative Visual Font Management Suite released October, 2 2003

October, 6 2003 Styopkin Software announced version 1.9 of its innovative visual font viewing and management solution allowing Windows users manipulate various fonts installed on the system. Sense I have been using it I have been trying to find a program where I can drag and drop photo’s in a folder to arrange them in a different order then rename them.

Spending many hours on the Internet and I seemed to keep coming to a dead end then I found out I could use “My Computer or Explorer” and open a picture folder and move the pictures around in the thumbnails and save them in the new order.

I found an article on the Internet that explained how to do it and got it to work. It seems like you could market a program that would do the same thing and rename the photo’s with a more advanced program. I’m not a programmer so do not know anything about if it’s possible.

Below I am going to send you the steps you need to use with Explorer to make it work. I would suggest you either make this information available to folks that get Fast Photo Renamer or upgrade a program that will do it.
Open a folder you wish to sort with Explorer or My Computer.

Go to the Thumbnails option.
Drag and drop pictures in the order you wish them.

Select all the pictures in the folder
Right-click on the first picture
Select Rename
Type the name and with one blank space put a (1).jpg Example: Backpack (1).JPG (Don’t forget the extension)
Hit the Enter key
Now go to “Fast Photo Renamer”
Open the folder with the pictures you just sorted.

Click on “Expand 1 to 001” in the upper left corner of the window. This will make the numbers change to three digits and correct their order. Now renumber them with “Fast Photo Renamer” as you wish to have them.

A Third Frontier of Your Security

The first obstacle for harmful programs on the way to your computer is a firewall, which prevents it from penetration. The second frontier is an antivirus program, which accomplishes scanning of all files on your computer searching for known viruses. Keylogger Hunter may definitely become a third frontier, which would guarantee full information security.

This program neither limits access to the computer from the World Web (use a firewall for that), nor it searches for viruses (antivirus software will do that). It simply bars hook-based keyloggers from gathering information about the keys you press.

Usage of such programs is of great significance. It is especially true for those users who attach the importance of information entered to the computer with the help of the keyboard (credit card numbers, private and official letters, etc), and are ready to spend up on a third frontier of information security. Keylogger Hunter does not require regular database updating, since it is based on a different principle. All new features will be easily available to all registered users, as we provide you with perpetual free updates.

Do you wonder how Keylogger Hunter works? Generally speaking, the program is wedged between a keylogger and Windows, thus preventing data gathering by a keylogger.

This additional security frontier will make your work on the Web (which teem with different ubiquitous spyware!) much safer.
